Tribute to fallen journalist……..
Every fallen soldier, innocent bystander and casualty of war has a human story that should be told.
Soldiers understand their role and train for it. Journalists may have some grasp of the possibility of death during wartime service and some overview training, but in my opinion are more likely to elevate the importance of capturing the story and their adrenaline above their fears. This is an instict and defense mechanism to avoid thinking of inherant dangers. Some of us have done this in situations other than war. I cannot speak to innocent civilians and cannot fathom what they endure, so I will not try.
Having said that, this tribute to journalist David Bloom is a solid one and worth a read.NYPOST.COM News Columnists: PEERS’ TEARS FOR GOOD GUY TV NEWSMAN DAVID BLOOM By ANDREA PEYSER
